International Teaching Ministry

Dominican Republic

The home to many warm, joyful people who show resilience, even in tough times. However, the economic challenges they face, especially the decline in tourism—a vital lifeline for many—have taken a toll. It’s heart-wrenching to realize that a single resort worker can often support up to ten family members.

Additionally, the church navigates an oppressive spiritual climate, grappling with a longstanding culture of voodoo and the disunity stemming from racial divides between Haitians and Dominicans.

Robin and Anita are a key part of our ministry in the Dominican Republic. Kathi first connected with Robin when he became her translator on her very first mission trip to the Dominican Republic. Since then, Robin has played an essential role in the work there, serving as everything from a translator and bodyguard to helping with transportation and even organizing Kathi’s first Pastor’s Conference. Born and raised in the Dominican Republic, Robin has a deep understanding of the culture and needs of the people along and a huge heart for God. Alongside his wife, Anita, and their dedicated team, Robin focuses on creative solutions that maximize available resources. By partnering with local churches, they are committed to encouraging, empowering, and strengthening the community they serve.

For several years, we’ve been running the DR Food Project, which began during the COVID-19 pandemic and continues to this day. Through this initiative, we visit villages to deliver food—whether in the form of groceries or prepared meals. It’s more than just providing nourishment; it’s an opportunity to meet immediate needs while sharing the gospel and spreading hope.

In addition to these projects, Kathi partners with local churches to host and attend meetings, where she preaches on topics such as identity and spiritual authority.

One of our projects in the Dominican Republic is the Children’s Hair Ministry. In this initiative, we visit villages with no electricity to provide haircuts and braids for the children. It's a simple yet impactful way to serve and connect with the community, offering both practical care and a chance to show God’s love in a personal way.

 South East Asia

The culture is vibrant, diverse, and full of celebration and a high value for respect. In the area we are working in beneath this beauty lies significant oppression, particularly for women, who often lack the freedom to escape the systems they were born into. This can lead to issues like sex trafficking and a distorted sense of self-worth.

Additionally, being a Christian in this culture comes with a heavy price, especially for those who convert from major religions. Persecution can result in job loss and strained relationships. Despite these challenges, the church radiates joy and freedom, offering a stark contrast to the surrounding culture.

For much of our work in Southeast Asia, we partner with Think Missions, a ministry dedicated to helping churches of all sizes become more strategic and proactive in their approach to missions. Their support empowers churches to engage in mission work with greater purpose and effectiveness.

In Southeast Asia, we host conferences designed to equip and encourage local church leaders, concluding with the distribution of essential supplies and funds to support their ministry efforts.

 Caribbean

Despite a culture influenced by atheism and occult practices, the church is relentless in its commitment to expanding the kingdom of God, demonstrating inspiring focus and unity.

We are currently working in an area in the Caribbean facing a severe economic crash, leaving stores empty and the community lacking essential items for well-being. This creates a strong demand for relief efforts including necessary items like medicine.

Due to regulations, churches primarily operate from homes, with local missionaries visiting villages to provide support.

We partner with local leaders who are actively rescuing women from sex trafficking, working closely with law enforcement, run a safe home that focuses on prevention, providing housing, vocational training, and support to help women rebuild their lives. Additionally, they offer a Bible school to further empower and equip them for a brighter future.

We also partner with Think Missions in the Caribbean to further support and empower local churches in their mission efforts.
